Baroness Brown of Cambridge
Join us for one of the highlights of the UKELA year.  Our distinguished speaker is Baroness Brown of Cambridge, Vice Chair of the Committee on Climate Change.  In the Chair is Patron, Professor Richard Macrory QC. The title of Baroness Brown's highly topical lecture is: Delivering Net Zero

We are delighted to let you know that our speaker for 2019 is Baroness Brown of Cambridge DBE FREng FRS, Julia King. Baroness Brown is an engineer, who has held senior engineering and leadership roles in industry and universities.

She is currently: Vice Chair of the Committee on Climate Change and Chair of the Adaptation Committee; NED of the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult; Chair of the Carbon Trust. She was non-executive director of the Green Investment Bank, and she led the King Review on decarbonising transport (2008) for the Chancellor of the Exchequer. She is the Sector Champion for the Offshore Wind Sector Deal, part of the Government’s Industrial Strategy.Baroness Brown sits as a crossbench Peer, a member of the House of Lords European Union Select Committee.

Our Chair for the evening is Professor Richard Macrory QC, UKELA Patron.  

This year's lecture will take place on Thursday 14 November and will, once again, be very kindly hosted by Freshfields, 65 Fleet Street, London, EC4Y 1HT.
